Xander From Buffy Dies, Still Had More Life Than Average Singapore Civil Servant

The news of Nicholas Brendon’s passing at 54 has sent shockwaves through Singapore’s Gen X community, mostly because it reminds them they are also one foot in the grave.

While the actor famously played Xander Harris, a man who survived literal hell-mouths and demonic apocalypses, he eventually succumbed to the only thing more dangerous than a vampire: ageing.

Singaporeans have expressed deep irony that a man who fought the undead died of natural causes, whereas most local office workers die inside by age 25.

"Aiyo, so sad leh, he was the only normal guy in the show," remarked 45-year-old administrative assistant, Serene Lim.

"He fight so many monster but in the end also die like normal person; my boss more scary than Dracula but I still must go office, so unfair sia."

The actor's family mentioned he found peace in painting, a luxury Singaporeans only experience when they use a highlighter on a corporate audit report.
