Singapore’s property market has officially ascended to a higher spiritual plane as a four-room flat in Bidadari fetched a record $1.368 million.

Desperate buyers are reportedly queuing up to pay seven-figure sums for the privilege of sleeping directly above the decomposing remains of the city's ancestors.

Real estate experts suggest the premium price accounts for the "eternal roommates" and the natural cooling provided by the chilling presence of restless spirits.

"Wah lau, $1.3 million to stay where people bury their ah gong?" said local resident Tan Ah Kow.

"Last time this place free one, now price so high even ghost also hide because cannot afford the rent."

Prospective owners remain undeterred, noting that at these prices, the resident ghouls are likely too priced-out to haunt anyone.
