Singaporeans Told To Extinguish Own Fires As SCDF Line Engaged

The Singapore Civil Defence Force has pioneered a new "Self-Service Safety" initiative after their emergency hotline was too busy to answer a Compassvale void deck fire.

Residents fleeing a burning mattress were shocked to find the 995 line engaged, presumably because the operators were busy listening to the latest National Day song on loop.

Left with no choice, a local volunteer played hero, extinguishing the blaze while the government effectively told everyone to "hang in there."

"Wah lau, I call until my finger pain also cannot get through," said one frustrated witness.

"Next time fire come, I just post on TikTok and hope the likes can blow out the flame ah?"

Officials confirmed that being incinerated is now a personal responsibility during peak call volumes.
