Singaporean Man Declares 47 Step-Parents To Maximize Tax Relief
The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) is currently investigating local resident Tan Ah Kow for claiming parent relief for forty-seven different elderly citizens.
Mr Tan, a middle-manager with a black belt in financial gymnastics, reportedly spent his weekends scouring wet markets for "unclaimed" grandmothers to legally adopt as dependents.
This strategic collection of geriatric assets allowed the visionary to reduce his annual tax liability to the cost of a single pack of contraband cigarettes.
"I tell you ah, my house now like Old Folks Home, but better than letting IRAS take my money for nothing," Mr Tan explained while stuffing a 98-year-old woman into his bomb shelter.
"Last time I try claim my tuition for 'Advanced Toto Analysis' also cannot, so I just play safe and adopt everyone's ah ma lor!"
IRAS officials reminded the public that "emotional support hamsters" do not qualify for child relief, regardless of how many tuition classes the rodent attends.
