A Singaporean family has successfully funded the world's most expensive "parenting lesson" after their son’s plastic toy gun triggered a high-stakes standoff with common sense.

Security officers at Changi Airport reportedly treated the tiny plastic pistol with the same gravitas as a tactical nuclear warhead, filing enough paperwork to kill a small forest while the family’s flight to China departed without them.
