Singapore Rental Firm Claims $11K Refund Lost In Accountant's Coffin
A local car rental company has clarified that the S$11,000 owed to a former client is simply being held in a spiritual escrow until their accountant’s deceased relative finishes their duties in the afterlife.
The firm recently redefined customer service by suggesting that a missing bank token and a funeral are legitimate reasons to keep five figures of someone else’s cash.
"The $11k is safe, trust me lah," said the boss while browsing luxury watches.
"My accountant’s uncle pass away, then the bank token also fly away, what you want me to do?"
"You ask for refund, you are the scammer lor!"
The customer has since approached the Small Claims Tribunals, hoping judges prefer bank statements over supernatural excuses.
