Landlords Shocked To Learn Rental Income Is Actually Taxable Money

The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) has successfully hunted down 422 landlords who "forgot" that rental income isn't just tax-free pocket money.

These local heroes claimed they were merely victims of "selective memory" while collecting $6,000 a month for a moldy partition room in Toa Payoh.

One landlord argued that filling out tax forms was "too much work" compared to his usual routine of breathing and gatekeeping basic human shelter.

With the war in Iran sending fuel prices to the moon, landlords have already planned a 50% rent hike to cover their legal fines.

"Lanjiao, if I cannot cheat IRAS, then the tenant must pay for my lawyer," said one property tycoon.
