Grab has announced a revolutionary financial lifeline for its taxi drivers by raising metered fares by a life-changing eight cents per trip.

The tech giant stated the "temporary" hike is a direct response to rising fuel costs, ensuring that after thirty consecutive trips, a driver can finally afford to look at a menu in a coffee shop.

"Wah lau, $0.08 leh! So much money, I don't know how to spend," said driver Tan Ah Teck, who currently spends his entire life savings just to exit a car park.
