Family Dumps Cat In Drain To Make Room For Guests

Singaporean households have officially begun their annual festive spring cleaning by disposing of the most cumbersome piece of furniture: the family cat.

Authorities report a surge in "drain-dwelling felines" as families realise that a living creature requires more maintenance than a plastic orchid.

One local auntie was spotted nudging a tabby into a monsoon drain to make room for an extra buffet table and three boxes of festive snacks.

"Wah lau eh, this cat fur everywhere, my house guest all got allergy one," she explained.

"Litter box also very smelly, my mother-in-law come surely complain like fuck," she added.

"Put in drain better, got fresh air and the water can wash away the shit for free."

The SPCA has reminded citizens that pets are not seasonal clutter.
