Eighteen Chefs Demands Staff Take Selfie During Live Colonoscopy
Eighteen Chefs management has clarified that a medical certificate is only valid if it includes a 4K high-definition selfie of the employee’s soul leaving their body.
The restaurant chain’s new policy required sick staff to provide photographic evidence of their physical suffering, preferably featuring a doctor’s finger in a sensitive location.
“A piece of paper doesn't prove anything,” said one manager while reviewing a 20-minute video of a waiter’s colonoscopy.
“If you can still hold a phone to take a selfie, you can definitely still hold a heavy-ass wok.”
The memo was withdrawn after the Ministry of Manpower reminded the company that staff are supposed to be employees, not inmates on 24-hour surveillance.
Management is now considering a policy where sick leave is only granted if the employee dies on camera.
